About
Finding the right person to support you or your child can feel like such a big step, and I know how important it is to feel that connection and trust. So, let me share a little about me—my journey into this work, the areas I specialise in, and why I’m so passionate about what I do. I hope it helps you get a sense of who I am and how I might be able to help.

My Journey
My journey into Clinical Psychology started as teenager, I went through a really tough time and found myself needing the support of a clinical psychologist. That experience was truly life-changing—it showed me just how powerful it can be to feel understood and supported. It’s the reason I knew, even then, that this was the path I wanted to take—to help others the way I was helped. I have now worked in the field for over a decade and it has taken me through roles working with adults and children in both the NHS and the independent sector, where I’ve been fortunate enough to support people during some of their most vulnerable moments.
I moved to North Devon shortly before starting my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Exeter and quickly realised that I’d found my home—I never left! While Devon’s beauty and rural charm offer so much, it also became clear to me that finding timely, high-quality support can be difficult in rural parts of the country. That’s why I founded Bright Path Psychology, to create a place where children, young adults and families could access compassionate, specialised support when they need it.

My Approach
I don’t believe in placing people—or myself—in boxes. But I understand the power of understanding why things might be difficult. I have extensive experience and training in the assessment of neurodevelopmental differences, learning differences and mental health challenges. Whilst assessments are not a magic wand, they help map out and understand why things might be difficult for a young person and their family. It means that any intervention or support can be tailored specifically to the individual.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, meaning that I tailor my therapy to fit each person’s unique strengths, needs and preferences. Whilst I am trained to support people of all ages with many different difficulties, I specialise in working with:

-
Neurodiversity
-
Anxiety
-
Shame
-
Self-esteem
-
OCD
-
Teenagers/young adults navigating difficult life transitions
-
Trauma
-
Ages 5-25

I draw on a variety of evidence based therapeutic models, including Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I offer face to face sessions in Barnstaple and virtual appointments for those further afield or boarding.
My aim is always to offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel seen and supported as we work together.
